Summary of Expertise:

Listed with other top experts in:

Expert's major focus is the selection of components, systems, and hardware used in chemical measurement. He has applied this most recently to biological cell growth devices that incorporate numerous measurements such as pH, O2, temperature, flow, and infrared transmission. He has designed and assembled prototypes for multiple gas analyses in the infrared. Expert's work has also involved the measurement of particles in diesel lubricants. He is currently working on a book that structures an approach to the design of chemical analyzers.

Expert has been involved with the design of infrared and external control systems using chemical analyzers. These involve autozero, autospan, temperature programming, flow control, etc. He has applied computer designs to automated measurement and data processing.

chemical autoanalysis

Expert has designed several prototype infrared sensor and measurement systems. This includes applications of pyroelectric detectors, circuits to process signals, and optical choppers. He has also had experience in the design of semiconductor sensors using II - VI compounds such as CdS.

Most of Expert's work goes toward the development of new products for technical applications. Many of his prototypes are used to obtain financial support from potential investors, displays at shows for market entry, and to stir inquiry. A feature of this effort is to assemble a prototype whose appearance reflects the potential application.

new product development

Devices and potential devices applicable to measurement technology are often electrochemical sensors. Expert maintains currency in this field by publishing a newsletter called "The Chemical Monitor." It is available in paper, and also on-line on Newsnet and Predicasts Newsletter Database.
