Summary of Expertise:

Listed with other top experts in:

ELECTROMAGNETIC-INDUCTION BONDING; INDUCTION HEATING; INDUCTION MELTING. Expert has expertise in electro-technologies that are applied to a variety of manufacturing processes. He has over 32 years of experience with large automated process systems centered around induction heating and melting applications, including forming, forging, rolling, heat-treatment, metals joining, curing of coatings, and semiconductor processing.

INDUCTION HEATING APPLICATION; INDUCTION HEATING DESIGN. For most of his career, both as an induction heating supplier and electrotechnology consultant, Expert has worked on the application, technical design, and installation of all types of induction heating equipment and process systems for a wide range of industrial applications. These applications include basic metalworking processes such as melting, forming, forging, rolling, heating treatment (ie hardening, tempering, annealing, stress relieving, etc.), welding, brazing, soldering, and curing of coatings. He is also knowledgeable of specialty metal working processes such as electromagnetic stirring (EMS), electromagnetic casting (EMC), and tin reflow. Additionally, Expert is familiar with the use of conductive susceptors for heating non-metals such as plastics, glass, and semi-conductor components. He helped develop much of the documentation and video tape material for the American Society of Materials (ASM) course in Induction Heating, which he has taught both domestically and internationally over the past 10 years. With an extensive knowledge of electrical and thermal design and application analysis capabilities, Goerge uses a special induction heating computer program that covers most of the basic metalworking processes.

ENERGY-EFFICIENT INDUSTRIAL PROCESSING; ENERGY AUDITING. Expert has expertise in providing process heating energy audits, primarily for the metalworking industry. He recently completed major projects for Southern California Edison involving 30 technologies associated with environmental applications. These covered industrial and commercial sectors and included air, liquid, sludge, and solid waste streams. His activities covered waste source reduction, waste recovery and recycling, and destruction of harmful components in the waste streams.

Expert has provided several on-site workshops/seminars. His induction heating/melting seminar covers primarily manufacturers in the metal-working sector and includes select non-metal working segments. Key applications for induction technology are included, such as melting, hot metal working, heat tracing, materials joining, surface conditioning, and special applications. Expert's heat tracing workshop addresses many large and small manufacturers in the metal-working industries. Basic heat treat processes such as annealing, normalizing, hardening, tempering, stress relieving, and solution heat treating are noted in the seminar. Expert also offers a seminar on electrotechnology applications, which covers all manufacturers in metal-working as well as non-metal-working industries. This workshop includes an overview of 14 electrotechnologies. Lastly, Expert's foundry seminar covers commercial and captive foundries as well as a review of all foundry processes (sand, shell, permanent mold, investment casting) and detailed coverage of all types of melting technologies (fossil, induction, resistance, and plasma).
