Expert has consulted for the NAB and EIA on issues related to AM radio equipment and standardization activities. He was a key Committee Person in the development of the AMAX High Fidelity Standard. This standard involved transmitter, measurement, and receiver conformance with NRSC-1, NRSC-2, and NRSC-3 standard as issued by the EIA and NAB. Expert stays current on issues in AM stereo development and wide band audio improvements for AM radio receivers. He is a member of the EIA standards committee for AM radio performance.

Expert has a broad background in all phases of consumer electronics including automotive applications. He was a member of the NRSC (National Radio Systems Committee) of the EIA (Electronics Industries Association) and NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) that conducted the testing and evaluation of digital broadcasting alternatives for AM and FM radio services in the USA. He has attended conferences and conventions throughout the world in pursuit of these technologies. He has been involved in the design, testing, product planning, technology assessment, marketing, and sales for over 30 years.

Expert has experience with designing and testing FM receivers for consumer and commercial applications. He has provided college instruction on FM theory, design, and testing. He is knowledgeable of FM radio receiver measurement techniques and is familiar with FMX stereo enhancement systems and in-band on-channel digital applications. Expert is a member of the standards and testing committee for development and selection of digital audio and digital radio committees of the EIA, NAB, and NRSC. He is also a participant in the FCC-sponsored testing for a new Emergency Broadcasting System for use in the U.S.

Expert has participated on the EIA and NRSC standards committees. He is familiar with and currently studying spectrum-related issues, audio coding, multi-path, fringe reception, and others. He is also knowledgeable of the many perceptual encoding schemes for audio compression such as Musican, MPEG, Level I, II, and III, DCC, MD, ATRAC, and ASPI. He also has expertise in the conversion of analog to digital, signal processing, coding, error correcting, and digital to analog conversion. He has done pioneering work in the development of early PCM and digital recording systems.

Expert has developed digital video compression systems using various encoding techniques such as MPEG1, MPEG2, DVI, and Truemotion algorithms. He has also developed software- and hardware-based editing and authoring systems for compact disc packaged media applications.

Expert is an international expert in all phases of audio recording techniques and practices. He is knowledgeable of microphone techniques, recording characteristics of various types of microphones, recording set-up for types of recording, mixer strategy, acoustic priorities for type of recording, recording venues/locations, expert engineers around the world who have special capabilities, editing, production, disc mastering, replications, and packaging of final product--including CD, cassette, or LP.

  • Expert has applied his technical knowledge to legal disputes in the areas of consumer and broadcast electronic areas involving advertising claims, contract negotiations, and mergers and acquisitions activities.
