Summary of Expertise: Listed with other top experts in:
Expert has experience as a design engineer in the field of power conversion. He has designed conventional PWM inverters for motor drives as well as developed prototype resonant DC link converters. He has designed driver circuits for bipolar transistors, IGBTs and FETs, digital and analog current regulators, and overvoltage, current, and temperature circuits. His other major design work has been with PWM rectifiers, power factor correction circuits, harmonic filters, and VAR compensation systems using PWM converters. His application experience includes industrial drives on feeders, fans, pumps, conveyors, presses, power converters for solar energy, hydro-electric and battery energy storage systems, power supplies through 300kW for a super-computer manufacturer. He can answer complex questions regarding alternating current to alternating current (AC/AC), direct current to alternating current (DC/AC), and alternating current to direct current (AC/DC) conversion.

Expert has designed power conversion systems up to 200 KVA with expandability into the MVAs for a solar array, variable speed hydro, and battery energy storage used by a utility for load leveling.

Expert is presently designing power converters using resonant mode switching of IGBTs. The highlight of this approach involves zero voltage switching of IGBTs with discrete pulse modulation techniques.
