He also has solid expertise in all variations of PCR, including real time PCR. Further, he is a "RNA" scientist by training, with extensive experience in RNA manipulations, including RNA isolation, sequencing, RT-PCR and real time RT-PCR.

In addition to molecular diagnostics, Expert has significant interest and experience in DNA fingerprinting technology and applications. He has particular interest in applications of fingerprinting applications of microbial pathogens for disease surveillance and outbreak investigations. He has developed many applications using a variety of different fingerprinting technologies, including PFGE, hybridization-based, and PCR-based methods.
