Expert served as the coordinator of all exploration budgets and special projects in the United States and Canada for a major oil company. As manager of an exploration program in Libya, he was responsible for the hiring, training, and direction of a 50-man team finding, drilling, and developing new oil fields with a $90 million budget that resulted in the addition of a billion barrels of reserves. He returned to the United States to become the General Manager of all oil and gas operations in the United States for a large independent company, quadrupaling their reserves in three years. Expert is experienced in all phases of oil and gas operations and management and enjoy a track record of having discovered or participated in the discovery of over 50 oil or gas fields. Since retiring, he has served as a special consultant to independents and companies on oil and personnel matters.

He was responsible for the North American operations of a large independent oil and gas company, including all exploration, production, and land activities. He was responsible for the exploration operations of a major company in Libya, including geological and geophysical work and the hiring, training, and assigning of staff. He served as the company's technical interface with the Libyan government and advised them on not only their actions but those of other foreign companies.

He held a Texas Real Estate Broker's license until recently when his business was sold to an employee. He participated in the development and sales of the Galleon resort in Key West, Florida, the Cochiti Lake and Stagecoach developments in New Mexico, and the planning and development of the Fort Clark Springs resort in Texas where he now lives. He served as a college instructor in Real Estate Development for a number of years.

Since being recruited by Shell Oil Company as a geophysicist/geologist he has dedicated much of his career to the development of new oil and gas plays and the evaluation of them. He has been involved in plays throughout the United States, Canada, Libya, and Israel. These efforts have been successful, resulting in the discovery or development of over 50 new fields. He has lectured on the principles of geology and subsurface exploration in the University, as a Distinquished Lecturer for the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, as a guest lecturer in Paris, and at the World Petroleum Congress. He directed many technical projects while at a major research laboratory in Houston. His lecture subjects included hydrodynamics, the development of well information systems, and the conversion of geophysical data from analog to digital form.
