NATO C3 Agency

Sensors and Surveillance Branch

Principal Scientist

Expert has in-depth knowledge of the entire sensor system, from focal plane readout electronics through image processing and man-machine interface. His close contact with the military end users of the systems had given him a very good understanding of operational use and tactics, techniques and procedures Expert has developed instrumentation and conducted IR signature trials for NATO aircraft. Developed signature analysis software and countermeasures simulations to evaluate IRCM effectiveness. Provided technical advice to the NATO-EUROCONTROL security coordinating group joint study on vulnerability reduction against MANPADS. Led major study of the operational effects of technology advances in electro-optic systems, delivered to SHAPE, NATO's military command headquarters. He led the NATO Imaging Seeker Surrogate project, an international scientific collaboration of eight nations, to deliver and advanced hardware model of an imaging seeker, complete with real time image processor. He provided expert advice in the NATO missile defense feasibility studies and managed sensor study sub-contracts. He produced a key study for NATO on directed energy weapons. He projected the operational effects of the Airborne Laser system in NATO missile defense.
