Expert has been involved in environmental chemistry research, education and consulting for almost 30 years. As a professor at University of North Texas she has conducted several research projects related to the fate and analysis of anthropogenic and natural compounds in the environment. The major theme of the research has been in: 1) the transport and fate of chemicals in the environment, and 2) the analytical chemistry of natural and anthropogenic compounds. She has trained students on the use of modern chromatography and spectroscopy instrumentation for analysis of organic and inorganic compounds in air, water and soil. She also trained students on the use of computer models and software programs such as MINTEQ, MEPAS, and ReOpt; GC, MS, and HPLC. Expert has been invited to present her research results at several national and international professional organizations. She has published more than 60 technical papers in refereed journals. She serves as a reviewer to several environmental and analytical chemistry journals such as Anal. Chem.; J. Agric. Food Chem. and J. Sci. Tot. Environ. She has served as a consultant to several industrial and government agencies including USEPA, Stanford Research Institute ,U.S. Geological Survey ,Allied Chemical Co., American Chrome and Chemicals Inc.,DBA Key and Associates, Southwest Medical School, Agricare Inc., Amity, Oregon and Texas A&M University, TX.
