Responsible for the technical guidance for all textile programs, both testing and inspection domestically and internationally. Assist all marketing efforts on a global basis.

1981 to 1999






Responsibilities include the direct “hands on” quality assurance management activities for all textile related programs. Developed, organized, and administered new textile programs to include certifying textile mills for major clients, childrens sleepwear, laboratories certification program. Provided technical assistance to all clients especially on government regulations. Develop and maintain worldwide quality standards for all clients. Provide facility textile consultation/training to staff as needed. Service on textile technical lesson/trouble shooter with all offices throughout the world.

Softlines Testing




Managed a staff of 35 merchandise engineers, specialists and technicians in the testing of all textile products purchased and sold by the JC Penney Co., Inc. Encouraged and developed textile programs jointly with merchandise and laboratory staff. Interacted between in-house legal staff and legal claims against JC Penney. Interacted any and all new federal regulation with legal staff. Developed with garment manufacturers Quality Assurance Programs to ensure that JC Penney was getting quality products.

Responsible for the development of new style fabrics in research department. Once developed, acted as a trouble shooter visiting garment manufacturers who had problems handling styles developed by the group.
