In his 40 years as a chemical engineer, his experience covers a wide range within the profession, including conceptual engineering, process research and development, pilot plants, process design and engineering, plant design, plant problem analysis and troubleshooting, process control, and project management in the chemical and polymer industries. Since 1992, he had worked as an independent consultant to the chemical, rubber, and plastics industries. He also serves on the NCEES Chemical PE Exam Committee, which produces the Professional Engineer Exam for chemical engineers, and is a Fellow of the AIChE.

His doctoral research was in the area of polymerization kinetics and polymerization control, and he has had extensive experience in kinetics, process control, and chemical reaction engineering in the course of his career, not only in polymerization, but in many other organic chemical reactions. On the Chemical P.E. Exam committee, he serves as a Subject Matter Expert in the area of kinetics and chemical reaction engineering.
