Established a project to formulate nanoparticle-encapsulated antibacterials with increased potency. Co-authored proposals for funding that resulted in 2 contracts with the NIH worth $4.5 millions. Served as scientific liaise and managed effective collaborations with academic research groups, contract research organizations, and consultants. Managed isolation and purification of bacterial proteins and toxins as templates for artificial antibodies in a DARPA-funded project. Provided expertise in setting up the company's biology laboratory and supervised/ensured its operation.
