Chief Administrator and Logistician (February 2007 – May 2007 Chocó, Colombia). Did voluntary work for the French/Belgian medical aid organisation MSF (Doctors without Borders). Was stationed in Istmina, Colombia for 3 months. Was responsible for all technical, logistical, security and administrational matters in a project base in Istmina in Chocó region, Colombia. Served as human resource manager for a team of approximately 20 people composed of medical, logistical and administrational personnel. Technical logistician and Engineer (April 2006 – October 2006 South Sudan, Africa) Was stationed in Bor, South Sudan in Africa for 6 months. Was responsible for all technical matters in a hospital revitalisation project in South Sudan such as installing and maintaining generators, providing electricity, rehabilitating hospital buildings and water supplies. Created and managed the “Construction and Rehabilitation Team," which was a group of approximately 50 craftsmen and unskilled workers used for rehabilitating the hospital.

Served as only mechanical design engineer and advisor to the technical director and the sales department at a large Faroese machine shop specialising in hydraulically driven machines for the marine and offshore industry. Was responsible for creating a documentation and history system for the company's technical activities, and to create a design department. Served as the link between the customer's demands/the authorities requirements and the foremen and craftsmen of the shop. Have designed among other things power blocks for net fishing, line haulers for deep sea crab fishing, capstan winches for boats and quays, hydraulically activated swing arms and hatches etc. Supervised in-house production of winches etc. as well as onboard repair and conversion work. Used the design tool AutoCAD and Inventor daily. Was responsible for supervising the construction of the sea- and leakage-water pumping-station in the second of the large sub-sea tunnels on the Faroe Islands.

Responsible for a large cost-reduction project on an existing model including: 1) Complete redesign of the interior parts of the vacuum cleaner composed of fewer and cheaper parts. Based on the design, the company claimed international patent no. WO01/74025 A1 “A Silencer for an Air Flow Generator." 2) Introduction of fewer but larger suppliers. 3) Optimisation of the assembly at the Nilfisk plant in Copenhagen. Worked as coordinator between external consultants, sub-suppliers and internal departments. Worked extensively with 3D modelling using Pro-Engineer.
