He has utilized expertise in characterization via light microscopy, electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction and thermodynamic modeling to perform this work.

He has extensive experience in performing all types of metal failure analysis, including failures associated with cast and wrought product. Specifically, he has performed failure analyses of Al and Cu alloy castings, steel components, weldments and solders joints for microelectronic applications. Expert utilizes an array of analytical and material characterization approaches that include light and electron optical fractographic characterization as well as mechanical testing, combined with an analysis of the operative stress and environmental systems to arrive at a useful failure analysis.
