Summary of Expertise:

Listed with other top experts in:

Expert has pioneered many minimally invasive approaches to gynecologic surgical procedures in his region of Georgia. Having performed thousands of gynecologic surgical procedures, he has a broad range of expertise in laparoscopic, hysteroscopic, and vaginal approaches to gynecologic surgery. He was the first in the state of Georgia to successfully develop a safe and effective truly outpatient technique for vaginal and total laparoscopic hysterectomy. He was also the first in his area to introduce office surgical procedures such as endometrial ablation, Essure® sterilization, and office hysteroscopy. He has instructed other gynecologists in these techniques. In addition, he is one of only a handful of gynecologic surgeons nationally to document the feasibility of outpatient hysterectomy and presented this data at the 2008 annual meeting of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the premier organization in the field of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. He is also among an elite group of gynecologists who are providers of the Interstim® sacral modulation therapy for female bladder dysfunction. In addition, he is recognized as one of the few members of the One Kilo Club, as well as the Society of Elite Laparoscopic Surgeons. He worked with Conceptus, Hologic, American Medical Systems, Covidien, Gyrus, and Boston Scientific

Expert has successfully performed thousands of circumcisions using the Mogen clamp and has instructed other physicians in this technique. The Mogen method remains the ideal circumcision due to its simplicity, short procedure time, no associated bleeding, and vanishingly low complication rate. It provides for the fastest healing, no special care needed post-procedure, and best cosmetic result.
