Consulting Services:
Selected Consulting Examples:
  • • Raw Materials Inventory Management Study (September – December 2005)As a joint project with SAIT who were offering Educational support, we performed an operational analysis of the factors that were contributing to forced plant shut downs. We performed an analysis of ordering processes, software usage and warehouse layout. We analyzed all receiving, putaway, storage and delivery processes to the production lines for just in time (JIT) inventory management. When areas of contributing factors were identified, we measured the costs and proposed alternate processes to eliminate the procedures that contributed to forcing production shut downs.
  • • The Maximization of Operational Efficiency – Health Region (January 2006 – December 2007) (A) Consulting services for “The Maximization of Operational Efficiency” General areas included:• Specific racking planning by location, commodity and velocity.• Warehouse mapping for complete location coordinates.• Total process analysis of product movement. Purchasing, receiving, storage and putaway, selection, shipping and delivery.• Error identification and control• Maximizing the use of Inventory Control Systems Software• Improve service levels to the Health Care System. This project supported the planning and construction of a new Warehouse and Distribution Centre. (B) Supplementary Operational Support This was in addition to the original project but related to hands-on support to distribution management people due to ongoing project delays. Included enhanced rack identification systems, priority planning, change management and implementation support.
  • • Movement of Goods Analysis – University o Time frame - September 2007 - PresentThis work will include the delivery of, interior movement of, and removal of all products and equipment through the University campus, with a focus on the loading dock areas. The scope of work will include some traffic and transportation studies and the use of experts in this field. The transportation of materials and goods must be compatible with best practice in the movement of goods' including just-in–time delivery, point of use inventory and inventory management systems. We achieve this within an academic and research setting being sensitive to the movement of goods, of which some are hazardous through public areas.
