Specialty pharmacy: Business acquisition for a specialty pharmacy; Business development and government/private sector payer contracting for mid-sized specialty pharmacy, including preparation of applications to CMS for the drug Competitive Acquisition Program.

Employer & Taft Hartley Trust: Evaluate & recommend changes in self-insured employers' and Taft Hartley Welfare Trusts outpatient retail and mail order prescription drug benefit programs.

Business coalition: Evaluate Pharmacy Benefit Manager contracts, including retail, mail order and specialty pharmacy, and provide feedback regarding strengths, weaknesses and opportunities to improve provision of pharmacy benefits to coalition's self-insured payers.

Government: Supported Centers for Medicare & Medicaid in developing pharmacy policy necessary for implementation of the Affordable Care Act, as a subcontractor to Logistics Management Institute which held the master CMS contract for policy support activities.

Pharmaceutical & biotechnology manufacturer: Market segment modeling prior to launch of new erythropoietin; Assess prevalence and success of specialty pharmacy oncology Rx direct ship model; Positioning strategy for a new IVIG and a new hepatitis B immune globulin; Opportunity assessment in building a Phase IV registry; Market research to assess customer acceptance of new pharmaceutical or biotechnology product, including pricing analysis; Develop Excel model of US market for a pain management injectable. Support the preparation of a Biosimilars Trend Report in 2015 and in 2016, for a major biotechnology manufacturer.

Disease carve-out company: Feasibility study for ESRD disease carve-out company; Build oncology disease carve-out company for a pharmaceutical manufacturer; Business strategy support for existing oncology disease carve-out company.

Pharmacy professional association: Wrote a white paper and created a resource database on US drug payment methods; Updated both white paper and database, results of which were posted to the AMCP website in August 2009. Serve on Editorial Advisory Board of this association's peer-reviewed journal.

Intellectual property: Prepared expert reports and reply reports in two Hatch-Waxman Paragraph IV (prescription pharmaceutical) intellectual property cases, and was deposed in one of these cases.

In the area of prescription drugs, Expert has experience developing contracts with pharmacy benefit management companies and third party payers e.g. managed care organizations. He also monitors drug spending and drug trends to identify areas in which intervention may provide better control. Expert advises pharmaceutical manufacturers on both of the pharmaceutical markets: channel, i.e. distributors, group purchasing organizations, retail pharmacy chains, specialty pharmacies & PBM's and the payers, i.e. managed care organizations, employers and business coalitions. He has focused on injectable and oral pharmaceutical formulations from all perspectives (manufacturer, channel and payer) in the areas of oncology, rheumatology and dialysis. He assists manufacturers on understanding and quantifying market access issues for particular pharmaceuticals and develops new marketing approaches.
