Expert is currently professor and chairman of a university food marketing department and has a Ph.D. in Quantitative Methods and Marketing from Syracuse University. He has written over 50 peer-reviewed articles and 10 books.

Expert has also worked in the food industry, where he has been Vice President of Marketing for an international coffee company, and has worked in Germany for one of the world's largest food retailers and owner of A&P in the USA.
