Expert has been involved in Emergency Medical Services for the last 21 years as a field provider, dispatcher and manager. Expert has been integral in many aspects of system development and growth including protocol development, grant writing and research, and personnel training including supervisory development and education. Working in systems from coast to coast, Expert has had the opportunity to be involved in the conversion of volunteer systems to career departments and Public Utility Model EMS systems to fully municipal Emergency Medical Services model.

EMS is a very fluid and ever changing profession with technology changing frequently, Expert has been involved in the development of new and exciting changes in techniques for the provision of patient care. Expert was instrumental in the addition of Hypothermia in cardiac arrest patients for the penninsula area of Virginia. In conjunction with the Medical College of Virgina, Expert wrote and presented the protocol to allow providers in the Northern Neck area of Virginia to actively cool post cardiac arrest patients increasing the survival rate by 50%. Expert was actively involved in the protocol for care of stroke patients in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Expert has been an educator in the field of EMS for the last 15 years, most recently functioning as the Training Captain for Richmond County. He is currently a Advanced Life Support Coordinator in the Commonwealth of Virginia and has designed training and preception programs for Middlesex and Richmond County. Expert is also the American Heart Association Coordinator for Riverside Tappahannock Hospital, instructing medical professionals in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
