When it comes to electrical experience, and the National Electrical Code, one could say that Expert has run the gamut. He started his career over twenty years ago as an electrician's helper. In time Expert advanced to journeyman electrician, master electrician, and then ran his own electrical contracting business for six years. Setting his sights higher, he desired to be an electrical inspector. This was soon realized and Expert worked for many government agencies. He is certified as an electrical inspector and an electrical plans examiner. He worked a Chief Electrical Inspector for over 3 years, supervising a group of 10 electrical inspectors. He has received the highest certifications in his field, including the highly coveted Chief Electrical Code Analyst certificate and Electrical Code Official certification. Due to his strong credentials and a willingness to serve, he was appointed to the Florida Building Code Administrators Board in 2005, by Governor Jeb Bush, and was subsequently reappointed by Governor Charlie Crist. He is one of the nations' foremost experts with the National Electrical Code, and his opinion is often sought from other leaders to solve difficult and unusual electrical problems and situations.

Vice Chairman

 

Vice Chairman, Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board. Appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board in 2005, due to his strong credentials and a willingness to serve. He was reappointed by Governor Charlie Crist in 2009. His duties include approving and denying applications for licensure for building code inspectors, plans examiners, and building officials. He also imposes discipline on licensees violating Florida Statutes §468 laws and Florida Administrative Code rules. He votes to approve or deny stipulated agreements between the state and licensees. During his present appointment with the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board, he has participated in Florida Administrative Code rule development and drafted proposed Florida Administrative Code rule language, subject to review by the Florida Joint Administrative Procedures Committee.

The Board insures protection of the public by conferring with and providing instruction to DBPR lawyers and legal staff. He monitors the prosecution of cases. He informs DBPR lawyers when cases are not processed timely. He informs DBPR lawyers when cases lack overall quality both in content and execution. He informs DBPR lawyers about Florida Statutes §468 laws and Florida Administrative Code rules. He also approves and/or makes changes to agendas and runs board meetings in the absence of the Chairman, responding to licensee and consumer inquiries.
