He performed analyses involving stress, thermal, and fluid applications; testing of material properties and use of laboratory techniques such as SEM and Optical Microscopy for inspection of material samples. He led the SAE Heavy Truck Crashworthiness, Phase II project with testing and simulation of heavy-truck cabs in rollovers. He also managed the Engineering Analysis Group and assumed profit/loss responsibility for the Engineering Computer Center. He placed an emphasis on cost, reliability, and manufacturing simplicity, developing new technologies to ultimately drive field improvements. He applied finite element simulation to improve designs and reduce prototypes.
