    Definition:  Pseudomonas Aeruginosa - A species of bacteria of the genus Pseudomonas which contains organisms that commonly occur in soil and river water, and are an important opportunistic pathogen in humans and animals, and, occasionally, plants. Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria may produce pyocyanin, pyoverdin, or fluorescein, and commonly cause nosocomial infections involving the urinary tract, wounds, abscesses, or the bloodstream.
