    Definition:  Compressibility Factor - A factor consisting of the product of the pressure and the volume of a gas, divided by the product of the temperature of the gas and the gas constant. For one mole of an ideal gas, the value of the compressibility factor is 1.0, however, in the case of real gases, its value may be either larger or smaller than unity.
