Definition:  Resistance-Capacitance Coupled Amplifier - An amplifier in which resistance-capacitance coupling is employed between stages and at the input and output points of the circuit. A capacitor provides a path for signal currents between stages, with resistors connected from each side of the capacitor to the power supply or to ground; alternating-current signals are amplified well, but the amplifier is not sensitive to small changes in direct currents.

Synonyms:  R-C coupled amplifier, RC-coupled amplifier
